SENIOR hurling - The Ballyvarley senior hurlers played at home to Ballycran on Tuesday and despite there only being two points in it for most of the game, the Ardsmen eventually won by seven points
The Senior hurlers next match is at home to Castlewellan on Tuesday July 8. After that the Senior hurlers do not play until until Tuesday July 29 due to the holiday period. They play away to Portaferry on this date. Throw in at 7.30pm.

Due to the
club sports day on Sunday Ballyvarley senior hurling training is now on this Saturday at 5pm.

The next minor hurling game is on Monday July 28 away to Warrenpoint. The draw for the Minor Hurling Championship has been made. The minors play in the Preliminary Round away to Warrenpoint on Monday August 25.

Senior Gaelic football - The Senior footballers next game is away to Aughlisnafin on Thursday July 3. Throw in at 7.30pm. Training is on Mondays at 7.30pm.

The next minor football game is on Wednesday July 23 away to Drumgath.

Underage hurling - The under 10, 12 and 14 hurlers continue to train away. The U14 hurlers play away to Clonduff on Wednesday.

The under 16 hurlers next league match is a home game against Clonduff on Thursday July 3.

The next under 12 hurling game is on Saturday at home to Kilclief.

Underage camogie - The under 14 camogs and under 12 camogs continue to train away. The under 12 camogs play away to Castlewellan on July 12.

Hurling/camogie coaching - The ability coaching programme for 7-12 year old camogs and hurlers has commenced with great attendances and enjoyment had by all.

Anyone interested in learning the skills of camogie and hurling are invited to these coaching sessions on Saturday mornings at 11am. Coaches interested in assisting with the programme would be very welcome. For further information contact Pat McGrath.

There are also midweek coaching sessions for hurlers and camogs. They are at the following times:

Under 12s - Monday night 7pm-8.15pm – contact Pat McGrath (hurling)/Marty Malone (camogie); 7-10 year olds - Monday night 6.30pm–7.30pm - contact Peter McConville (07815142912)/Kathleen O'Meara.

Underage Gaelic football - The under 14 footballers play Drumgath at home on July 24; The under 16s play Ballymartin at home on July 22.

The under 12 footballers play away to Tullylish on Sunday July 27; U12 footballers train on Thursdays from 7-8pm; U8/10 coaching on Sundays from 12-1pm.

Ladies football - Football for girls aged 10–14 years has commenced and anyone looking details of it should contact Ciara Devlin 07511477877.

County hurling - The South Down hurlers played Liatroim in their first game of the Nicky Rackard Cup on Saturday. The South Down hurlers won by a goal after a good second half performance. The South Down hurlers now play Fermanagh. The game will be played on either July 12/13.

Club merchandise - Shorts and socks in club colours will be available in Ballyvarley Hall at 12 noon to 1pm every Sunday.
