FORMER Dromore RFC coach Richard Mackey is gearing up for the new season, having taken over the reigns at the club once more.
Along with his new club captain Johnny Murray he hopes to boost the fortunes of the club in the coming season.
Mackey, a former Ireland A and Ulster player, is keen to get things underway.
Training has already started on Wednesday evenings at 7pm.
Johnny Murray was delighted with his election as club captain. He said, "I am honoured to captain my home town club and although it will be a major challenge I am looking forward to pre-season training and getting down to business for next season.

"I believe that we as a team can improve on last year's results and I'll be expecting 100% commitment from all players involved."
The season will get underway on Saturday 23rd August with games arranged by team manager Billy Savage against Boyne RFC at The Hill followed the next week by a trip to Dublin to face Ashbourne RFC.
"The boys are in good spirits following the break and a lot of the young players are showing a great deal of commitment, this should auger well for the season," says Billy.
ECHELONS
"We have the potential to ease our way into the top echelons of junior rugby," added Mackey.
"The team played well last season without having much success but I can see that a number of the younger players have developed both mentally and physically over the summer.
"I would expect a good season and would encourage all players to come on Wednesdays to get fit for the new season".
