Generosity of locals helps build church in Africa

A local woman has put in perspective the generosity of the people of Ballymoney and how it has helped a beleagured community in Africa.

Supported by many others, Amanda McKeeman has helped raise thousands to build a church in the bush area of Kauolougou in Burkina Faso.

The building is now used extensively by the local population both young and old.

Far from claiming credit for herself, Amanda has heaped praise on her colleague, Grant Nesbitt, who helped her raise 6000 last year.

Family and friends, the Church of God in Ballymoney and the people of the district contributed substantially along with Mrs. Edwina Chambers of Drop Inn Iniistries.

Their reward is the fulfillment of a dream - a new church to bring an added spiritual dimension to the people of the area.

Already, another church is being built in a similar bush area of Kauolougou which Amanda says is a real blessing to the communities who are extremely grateful for the love and kindness shown by people so far away.
