Police have called on road users to be responsible after a number of vehicles were parked across an emergency barrier at the Cave Hill Country Park.

Officers were made aware of the issue while conducting patrols across the district over recent days.

Detailing the incident in a post on social media, a PSNI spokesperson said: “It is great to see so many of you being responsible and paying attention to the NI Executive regulations. We have noticed though whilst patrolling Cave Hill Country Park that a number of motorists continue to park across the emergency vehicle barrier at the Upper Hightown Road car park.

“Although this barrier is locked, it can still be accessed by emergency services if people in the area require attention and we would ask people not to park across it. Such actions could not only lead to a fine, but could also endanger those in need of emergency assistance.”
