ALL roads certainly did lead to Loughbrickland on a recent Saturday evening when the officers and members of King Solomon's Rising Star R.B.P. No. 402 held their treasure hunt and barbecue.
Despite what could best be described as inclement weather a large number of men, women and children turned up for this now annual event.
The hunt set off from the grounds of Derrydrummuck Orange Hall at 7pm and traversed the country roads around Bal
lynacross, Brague and Derrydrummuck on the lookout for clues, which had been set by local couple Trevor and Valerie Martin.
Upon returning to the hall those who had taken part in the hunt were joined by a large number of other supporters for the Pig Roast and Barbecue. Cooks for the evening included Gordon McDowell and Keith Baird, who ensured everyone had full plates.
After all present had enjoyed a delightful supper, during which they were entertained by some pleasant accordion music, Trevor Martin announced the answers to the quiz.
The next event on the calendar for the members of the Preceptory will be the Annual Sham Fight Demonstration in Scarva, which this year will take place on the 14th of July.
The Preceptory has also set up a Scripture Study Class, which will commence its Winter Programme in September. Further details of the class can be obtained from Paul Clydesdale, Gordon McDowell or Alan Rogers.
